SANTUARIO MARIA SS DEL UDIENZA

S. Anna "Giuseppe Altamore" suburban parkPreview: It extends for 26 hectares and takes the name of "S. Anna "because inside there is the homonymous former hermit convent. It has recently been named after "Giuseppe Altamore", Giuliana's writer and journalist who worked hard for its realization.

Interior: Closer to being a botanical garden than a simple park, the aim is to disseminate and promote biodiversity and enhance its naturalistic heritage through the protection and exposure of plant species (including native ones). The characteristic and serpentine stone paths will lead you to a sylvan environment that also allows birds of prey such as the sparrow hawk to nest.

Federico II Castle:

Located at 736 meters above sea level, it turns its back on the Sosio valley and is oriented towards the inhabited center.

Interior: The structure - born as a place of defense from enemy attacks - dates back to the time of the Swabian domination and is given by an upper turreted fortress and a semicircular building.

The first, with an irregular shape with white limestone walls, while the second consists of a pentagonal tower.

The roof terrace is of great impact since it ranges in all directions and allows you to enjoy beautiful landscapes: to the south you can see the sea to the horizon, to Chiusa Sclafani to the east and to the north the inhabited center of Giuliana where the church predominates.

To the south of the building there is another terrace that juts out overhanging the valley of the Sosio river.
